The Cambridge-Deerfield Players Theater, Inc., offers the Cambridge, Deerfield, Marshall and other Wisconsin-area communities the opportunity to participate in and enjoy all facets of community theater. The mission for the CD Players, Inc. is to support productions and projects that augment and enhance the artistic experience for all who participate whether on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience. These productions are understood to be occasions to refine skills, learn new ones, and have fun!

Judy Brandt, Director
Deanne Herrling, President Deanne joined the board in 2007 as Vice President and then stepped-up into the role of President in 2013. She has been very involved in grant writing and fundraising efforts to improve the CDP headquarters and purchase technical equipment. She has enjoyed being part of the cast (along with her two daughters) in past CDP productions of South Pacific, State Fair, Lil Abner, Joseph, Guys and Dolls, Beauty and the Beast and the 10th anniversary reprise of Music Man. Most of all, she enjoys watching young and older cast members develop new friendships while blossoming into talented actors. She joined the board in 2007.
Sara Cerar, Vice President Sara, along with her Mom, Judy Brandt (top), began the Cambridge-Deerfield Players Theater in 2003. Coming from a family of musicians, theater has always been a passion. She has played various roles in CD Players productions including Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat , Mother Abbess in Sound of Music , Bloody Mary in South Pacific , Mrs. Shinn in Music Man , and Melissa Frake in State Fair. She is a Mom and a Psychotherapist and finds that music and theater are good for relaxation and good self-care.
Diane Evensen, Treasurer Diane has been involved with the Cambridge-Deerfield Players Theater since 2004, has been on the Board for several years, as well as serving as Treasurer since 2011. She has also been the stage manager for all performances to date. She has been involved with both Cambridge High School and Deerfield High School musical performances as stage manager.
Virginia Becker Virginia joined the CD Players in the summer of 2013 and enjoyed the cast and her role as Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast. Last year, as the Mayor's wife in The Music Man, Virginia stepped into her first comedic role. As a Board member, she hopes to help continue the high level of excellence that the CDPlayers is known and loved for!
Janet Kannenberg, Co-Secretary Janet came to the CD Players in 2013 for "Beauty and the Beast". In 2014, she had a blast playing Ethel Toffelmeier in "The Music Man" and joined the Board. Janet became involved in community theatre with her son when he was 10, first in Waterloo (where she lives) and then Marshall . The CD Players have been a wonderful and welcoming part of her life these past couple of years and she looks forward to many more summers of music, laughter and fun.
Peggy Punsel, Co-Secretary Peggy Punsel jumped into the fun of CD players in 2015 when both her girls wanted to be Oompa Loompas in the Willy Wonka Jr play. Peggy moved to Cambridge in 2004 and lives with her family in her husbands grandparents home. She loves everything about living in a small town and was excited to be able to dabble again in theater set productions as she did in her home town of Wausau when she was growing up.
Ken Smith Ken first became involved as a volunteer/parent with CD Players in 2014 when his daughter, Brittany, was in 'Beauty and the Beast'. He decided it was time to join her and the other cast members on stage for 'Oklahoma' and continues to enjoy the CD Players family atmosphere. He was also a member of the Country Chordsmen, men's choir. He wants to help CD Players grow and help others find out how much fun the stage can be! He joined the board in 2016. Ken maintains the web pages and appreciates you letting him know of any corrections that need to be made.
Ellise Tallard Ellise first heard about the CD Players in 2016 when they were starting auditions for Into The Woods, which happens to be her favorite musical. All of her former acting experience came when she was in high school. So, it was about time for her to get back on stage. During the day Ellise works in the Biotech industry and in her free time goes to grad school. She loves puns and singing while she hikes. she joined the board in 2016.
Renee Tobias Renee has lived in Cambridge with her husband for the last 12 years. She has been an avid supporter of the theater since college. Renee became first involved with the CD Players when her youngest daughter tried out and performed in the Music Man. Although not seen on stage, she enjoys participating in all things backstage. Renee looks forward to supporting future cast and crew in making each play a success.
Mikey Jarlsberg Mikey first became involved with the CD Players in 2007 playing Stewpot in South Pacific, then Abel Frake in State Fair. This was his first experience in theater and has been hooked ever since. He’s done several shows in Stoughton, Sun Prairie, and Madison and looks forward to helping the CD Players thrive. This is an amazing, fun group to be involved with. He joined the board in 2017.
Chris Flannery Chris has lived in Deerfield with his wife, Emily, Since 2004 with their 2 daughters, Regan and Quinn and a son, Callan. He first became involved with the CD Players theater as a parent in 2015 when Regan was part of the cast for Willy Wonka Jr. He increased his role during Annie in 2016 by volunteering by taking care of Judy’s lists and special projects. He has always had a love for theater but really just loves to help out in anything his children are part of. He joined the board in 2017.
