​Our founder and our inspiration

Diane Evensen, Treasurer & Stage Manager for the children's show 

Diane has been involved with the Cambridge-Deerfield Players Theater since 2004, has been on the Board for several years, as well as serving as Treasurer since 2011. She has also been the stage manager for all performances to date. She has been involved with both Cambridge High School and Deerfield High School musical performances as stage manager.​ 

Les Williams, Set building Manager

He joined the board September 2017 after his son was the "Wizard" in the Wizard of Oz.  Les has built sets for Hello Dolly, Wizard of Oz Jr,

South Pacific, Lion King, Jr., Mary Poppins and Peter Pan Jr., as well as designed our haunted houses since 2017.

Betsy Bamlett, Music Director of community show

 She became a board member in September 2016. and another term starting in September 2019,  Betsy as the Music Director for Mary Poppins in 2019.

Sarah Dudnik

Sarah Dudnik has been on the board for three years but began her career with the CD Players with their first show, “Music Man”, in 2003.  She has also participated in “The Sound of Music”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," “Guys and Dolls”, “Hello Dolly," and starred in “Mary Poppins” in 2019.  Since then, she has joined the board and helps with marketing and promoting shows as well as events that the CD Players hold.  Sarah is born and raised in Cambridge and now teaches General Music at Cambridge Elementary.

Peggy Punsel, Vice-President 

 She jumped into the fun of CD players in 2015 when both her girls wanted to be Oompa Loompas in the Willy Wonka Jr play. Peggy moved to Cambridge in 2004 and lives with her family in her husband's grandparents home. She loves everything about living in a small town and was excited to be able to dabble again in theater set productions as she did in her home town of Wausau when she was growing up.

The Cambridge-Deerfield Players Theater offers the opportunity to participate in and enjoy all facets of community theater. Our mission: to support productions and projects that augment and enhance the artistic experience for all who participate, whether on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience. These productions are understood to be occasions to educate, inspire and to have fun!

Lisa Moen, Secretary & Stage Manager for the community show 

Lisa was elected to the board September 2018, another term starting in September 2019 and became secretary in May of 2019.  She first became involved with the CD Players in 2011 when her son joined the cast of Joseph. Since then, her children have been in the next 11 shows. She has enjoyed all aspects of being a theater mom.

Deanne Herrling, President, Marketing coordinator, Artistic Director of Community & children’s shows 
Deanne joined the board in 2007 as Vice President and then stepped-up into the role of President in 2013 to present. She has enjoyed being part of the cast (along with her two daughters) in many of the past CDP productions. She directed her first show, Mary Poppins, in 2019 and looks forward to directing Addams Family and Frozen Jr in 2022.  Most of all, she enjoys watching young and older cast members develop new friendships while blossoming into talented actors. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, creating vintage jewelry and volunteering as a NICU cuddler.

Tim joined CD Players September 2019.

Joanne 'Jo' Matheson, Costume Coordinator 

Jo joined the board in March of 2018.  She has been involved with the organization since 2006 when her grandchildren began their acting careers. She loves watching children discover the drama and music side of their personality. Jo says she's honored to be a board member..

John Scott 

John joined the board in June 2021. He's the founder and president of John Scott Media, a Cambridge-based marketing and consulting agency. He has served in numerous volunteer positions, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Boys and Girls Club. John's past experience includes software and technology marketing, business development, and higher education. John lives in Cambridge at Lake Ripley with his wife Cyndi, and has two kids who attend the University of Nevada/Reno. 

Gwen Schneider

​​Gwen Schneider is one of the founding members of the CD Players.  She has been in ten of the musicals and has worked hard behind the scenes of musicals she has not been in.  She loves the Community support that is shown to this theater group.  She hopes to be involved in many more musicals to come. 

Ken Smith

Ken returned to the board in September 2020.
