In Memoriam: Judy Brandt

CD Players Theater's Founding Mother

Judith (Judy) Ann Brandt grew up in the Cambridge area and was a beloved music teacher in the Fort Atkinson and Deerfield school districts for many years. Following her retirement in 2002, she founded the Cambridge-Deerfield Players Theater where she touched the lives of many through her love of life and passion for music. Everyone had a home in her musicals, choirs, classrooms and her heart. She had the pleasure of directing 13 community shows for the CD Players as well as 5 children’s shows for 2nd thru 8th graders. She was also the Music Director for Grace Lutheran church, the Country Chordsmen, Bel Canto and Men of Blackhawk choirs.  She also organized the annual CD Player dessert show and winter yuletide festivals and various road trip concerts. Even though retired, she loved to work with students to prepare them for concerts, solo and ensemble competitions and many other programs until the very end.

We hope she realizes how many lives she touched by her love of music and theater. She was not only our founding member, a board member and music director, but she was a mentor to so many as well as our dear friend.

You will live on in our hearts and theater forever!

Judy, Judy, Judy, Oh yes, we love our Judy!
